We believe in using good food from local suppliers

Simply cooked food and 100% traceable, with as few food miles as possible, we keep to our Green policy and try to support the local economy whereever possible!

Our catch of the day comes fresh off the boat, before it even has to go to any of the local fish markets and we know all our suppliers.   Please don’t hestitate to ask us about any of our products!

Our suppliers include:

Gribbles Butchers: Respected South Hams butchers whose beef is always locally sourced within 20 miles and aged for 28 days. We can usually

tell you from which farm and what breed.

Farmer Phil Bond: Supplies local lambs which graze permanent pastures on his farm near Blackawton, just down the road.  Unbeatable on our Suday Carvery!

Creedy Carver: The Colman family farm in mid Devon produces fine quality chicken and ducks.

Sid Griffiths:  Sid supplies our crab and lobster.  He is a member of Hand liners association and supplies any line caught fish on the menu; mainly sea bass, cod and pollock. He fishes out of Dartmouth on two 21ft inshore boats DH 87 and DH88 if you see him on the water (or the bar downstairs!) give him a wave!

S&J Fisheries: Fish from local waters and the world oceans purchased daily from our famous local fish markets at Brixham and Plymouth.

Dartmouth Smokehouse:  Family owned Dartmouth Smokehouse has a long tradiiton of making quality smoked fish and delicacy dishes.  They feature on our fantastic breakfast menu in The Grill Room.

Chalices: Fresh fruit and vegetables sourced wherever possible from within a twenty mile radius of Totnes and delivered to us daily by this long established family firm of greengrocers.
