Bedroom prices are per room, per night. Rates are inclusive of accommodation, breakfast and VAT. Minimum 2-night stay. Restrictions apply on all Saturday evenings and on New Year’s Eve.
You will need to provide your credit or debit card details to secure your reservation. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro and Electron to secure a reservation.
Full payment for your stay will be taken in full between check in and 72 hours prior to arrival from the card details used to secure your reservation. If cancelled up to 72 hours before the date of arrival no charges will be incurred, if you cancel later than this, then you will be charged in full. In case of a no-show the total price of your reservation will be charged. A different deposit amount, cancellation charges and other conditions may apply to certain rates, as specified. Rooms are subject to availability and the Company reserves the right to refuse any Booking for good reason.
We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the property during your stay (including without limitation specialist cleaning) or for any items that are missing when you leave.
If you think that there is a mistake in your reservation or if you require any changes to a confirmed reservation, please contact us to discuss.
Unfortunately, due to our prominent position, we don’t have a car park at the Royal Castle, but you are able to stop outside the front of the property to unload and check in. There is a car park close by, but the spaces are generally used for short stays during the high season.
Alternatively, there are two car parks in Dartmouth – Mayors Avenue (TQ6 9LW) and Dartmouth Castle (TQ6 9NF) which charge £3 for overnight stays. During the summer season, the best option is to use Dartmouth’s park and ride which is located at the top of the town. For more information, please visit www.southhams.gov.uk

All our rooms are complete with luxury toiletries, tea and coffee-making facilities, free WiFi and a hairdryer.
Please note, air conditioning is only available in select rooms.
We welcome well-behaved dogs into a few, specially selected, rooms at an additional charge of £15 per night, per dog. If you are looking at bringing your dog with you please give us a call to ensure you are allocated the correct room.
We ask that dogs are not left on their own in the rooms. Your dog is allowed with you in all areas of the Royal Castle except the main restaurant.
Included in this additional rate you will find our 'Proper Dog' hamper complete with tennis ball, Forthglade treats, biodegradable poo-bags, a can of our 'Proper Dog' pooch-friendly beer and Proper Job beer for you to take away with you.

There is WiFi available throughout the Royal Castle. Simply complete our sign-in form and you'll have access to the internet.

Check-in is from 3pm. We ask guests to check out by 11am on the day of departure.
Breakfast is served every morning from 7:30am until 10am and is included as part of your room rate.
You can order from our breakfast menu, or please help yourself to our continental selection.
The main bar and restaurant also offer lunch and dinner. The team will be happy to reserve a table for you, just let them know. Explore our full menu here.
We have 2 family rooms available, each with a double and single bed. Please note, both of these rooms are on the 4th floor.
Some of our rooms are large enough to accommodate a Z bed or cot, which are available to hire. Please call us to book to ensure you are allocated a room which is large enough.
Additional occupants aged 3+ years are charged 25% of the double room rate.
All our bedrooms are located on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor and can only be accessed by stairs, so may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility. If you would like to book a room please give us a call, we would be happy to advise.
Although we will try to accommodate special requests, all rooms are subject to availability.
If you have booked through a third-party travel agent please refer to the agent's specific cancellation terms. We do not pay commission on reservations to third parties without a prior formal agreement.
